My lab
The lab is more like an office... Everyone has a laptop, there are several printers, fax machines (which seem to be in use practically every day - only in Japan!), a small library worth of reference books, lab equipment and a treasure cove full of snacks and sweets. There seems to be a tradition of giving food, crackers, cookies, sweets and candy to people you meet and these gifts have a tendency to accumulate on most Japanese people's livingroom tables or, in our case, in the "omiyage cabinet." Anyway, this is my chair.
